Classroom Behavioral Therapist [CBT] – The Classroom Behavioral Therapist, or “CBT”, works intensively with 1-2 students under the direction of a Coordinating Teacher. The CBT follows a structured ABA regimen, to continually reinforce behavioral changes that truly make a difference in the daily lives of the students and their families. The CBT requires an associates or bachelor’s degree in education, special education, psychology, speech, or other developmentally-related field. A CBT must be self-motivated, physically able to manage active students, and emotionally able to remain patient and focused. Previous Experience working with children with autism preferred. Current CPSL clearances within 30 days of hire. FBI clearance from Department of Education required.

Emergency Room Manager – Oversees the operations of the unit to ensure smooth and efficient patient care management and assumes 24/7 accountability for the ED dept.
- Under administrative direction, plans, implements, and evaluates delivery of patient care.
- Develop and evaluate all personnel in Emergency Services.
- Facilitate unit meetings
- Responsible for selection, orientation and retention of staff
- Demonstrates leadership through coaching, evaluations and corrective action.
- Train ER/hospital staff in departmental/hospital disaster protocols (internal and external).
- Resource for disasters and disaster drills.
- Minimum 3 years in a hospital setting with at least 2 years in Emergency Care with demonstrated team leader or leadership experience required.
Nursing Shift Supervisor – Casual. Seeking an RN to function as House Supervisor on off-shifts and weekends. Requires nursing experience and current ACLS, with critical care training and some management experience preferred.

RN Staff Nurse– Med Surg/AAB (Adaptable Acuity Beds) – Full-time. Requires critical care training or willingness to train, current ACLS, and related experience.
LPN – Med Surg – Full-time, Part-time or Casual. Current LPN license in PA. Acute care experience preferred.
Patient Care Assistant [PCA] – Part-time. Requires HS diploma or equivalent, and ability to provide necessary physical assistance, personal care, and monitoring of vital signs. Skills may be obtained through formal training, CNA certification, relevant work experience, or on the job training. Must be flexible to work various shifts, rotating weekends, holidays, etc.
Staff Nurse / RN – Full-time, Part-time or Casual. Must have related experience or sincere interest in developing knowledge and skills in behavioral health nursing.
Licensed Practical Nurse/ LPN – Full-time. Current Pa. LPN license; Pa. Act 33/34 and CPSL clearances , Completion of crises prevention program or equivalent . Must be able to demonstrate competency in all areas of LPN scope practice, as required by hospital. Training or experience relevant to mental health care or services is preferred.
Social Worker – Behavioral Health – Full-time. Bachelors Degree in Behavioral Health related or Human Services field (Psychology, Counseling, Rehab Counseling.) Masters degree preferred. Minimum of 2 yrs experience in Behavioral Health setting preferred. Ability to work flexible hours to include early morning, evening and weekend hours when required.
Psych Tech – Part-time. Serve as active member of treatment team in inpatient mental health care setting. Require bachelor’s degree in psychology or related social science. FBI, State Police and Childline clearances required. Shifts – Daylight, Evening, Overnight, Weekends and Holidays
Mental Health Aide – Part-time and Casual. High School education or equivalent. Physical ability to provide direct total physical care for patients; good observation skills. Completion of approved crises intervention program. Ability to provide necessary physical/personal care, as acquired through nursing aide training. Relevant work experience, or on the job training during Highlands probation period. Ability to interact with patients and families in a therapeutic manner, as acquired through. Psychiatric tech training, related education, and/or relevant work experience; or demonstrates adequate understanding of appropriate patient/family interaction in the mental health setting. CPSL clearances within 30 days of hire or transfer to the department.
RN Staff Nurse – Current PA Registered License, critical care or emergency room experience preferred and critical care training. ACLS certification required; PALS required within 1 year of hire.
CASE MANAGEMENT/SOCIAL SERVICES
Social Worker – Part-time. Daylight hours.
- Requires BSW; MSW or LSW preferred.
- Requires 2 years experience in multi-disciplinary health setting (inpatient acute care setting preferred)
- Requires a comprehensive knowledge of short-term crisis intervention techniques and community resources related to discharge planning (i.e.: nursing homes, personal care homes, home health services. Must also have thorough understanding of Medical/Medicaid regulations and managed care health systems.
- Requires ability to organize, to work independently, an effectively with a variety of professional and non-professional staff. Must be able to respond to needs of patients and their families, who are often in crisis, while maintaining good guest relations. Requires ability to function effectively in a high stress environment.
Echo Tech – Part-time. Requires degree from a CAAHEP accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program OR must meet the education requirements for Echo cardiographer certification with either CCI or ARDMS.
Current Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CCI), or Registry eligible with the minimum of Physics portion of the registry completed. Must obtain registry within 6 month of employment.
Current CPR and AED within 30 days of hire.
Must have strong communication skills as they work with patients of all ages in a variety of mental and physical conditions. Must have a desire to continue learning as new technologies are consistently introduced into the field.
Mammography Technologist – Part-time / Casual. Registered by the ARRT in Radiology and Mammography, Certification in Bone Densitometry or willingness to train in Bone Densitometry. Digital experience preferred. Good understanding of age-related development issues of pediatrics and geriatrics. The Mammography Technologist must continuously update skills and knowledge. Flexibility to work as needed.
Rad Tech II/CT Tech – Casual – Graduate of an accredited Radiology Program, with ARRT registry. Rad Tech II classification – CT experience required; CT Tech Classification – CT registration required. Must maintain all required credentials
Ultrasound Technologist – Casual. Must be able to perform abdominal, obstetrical, and vascular exams. Requires ARDMS and RVT. Typically works day shift , with evenings, weekends/holiday and on-call.
OTHER STAFF POSITIONS
Respiratory Therapist – Part-time position. Must have completed a Respiratory Therapy program from an approved school, and certification or registration as a Respiratory Therapist (or must be registry eligible). Need experience in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and in geriatric, adult, and pediatric respiratory care. Training/experience in sleep lab, or willingness to train. Rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Phlebotomist –Part-time. Requires recent training or experience. Will perform venipunctures on inpatients and outpatients, as well as other related functions for clinical laboratory. Rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Patient Registrar–Part-time/Weekender. H.S. graduate or the equivalent. 20 wpm typing and ability to demonstrate basic word processing skills on a PC. Knowledge of medical terminology and Good organizational skills and communication skills, to relate well with all levels of staff.
Computer Systems Analyst – Part-time. Two years in Information Systems position involving operations and/or programming, or equivalent in post high school training required. Working knowledge of screen-building techniques and computer system documentation. Knowledge and skills for developing, installing and maintaining computer application within a healthcare environment (clinical and/or financial). Highly developed written and oral communication skills and problem solving skills to accurately interpret and implement user requirements. Windows personal computer skills: including software applications in spreadsheet, database, word processing, and Cisco operating systems.
Ability to interact effectively with employees, manager and the public, exercising tact, discretion and courtesy: ability to maintain confidentiality. Must be able to work a flexible schedule when needed and able to work under pressure and within time constraints.
Maintenance – Part-time.
- At least 3 years experience and show ability to perform the duties required to achieve the position.
- Must have common knowledge of entire scope of responsibilities assigned to the facilities department while seeing them through to completion in a timely manner
- Including but not limited to: general knowledge of building trades, maintenance, environmental services and monitoring of high pressure steam boiler systems.
- Valid PA Drivers license
- Basic computer skills.
GENERAL EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION Nursing Specialty Areas:
Behavioral Health – We provide the only inpatient behavioral health care in Fayette County, which has been a specialized service of Highlands Hospital for over 30 years! Traditional behavioral health treatment is enhanced with other healing modalities such as music therapy, guided imagery, and drum circle activities. 29 beds are located among two comfortable and attractive inpatient units. The larger unit was recently reopened after a complete renovation, which incorporates enhanced safety features for both staff and patients, improved design for patient care and activities, and many other state of the art features for modern behavioral health care.
Medical Surgical/AAB – Our Med Surg units serve pediatric/adult/geriatric patients, and include several telemetry beds. In addition, Acuity-Adaptable beds can be designated as needed for those patients requiring a higher level of care, including specialized technology, and intensive monitoring by specially trained nursing staff.
Emergency Department – Full-service 24/7 ED staffed with specialty qualified physicians and RNs, and containing many state-of-the art Emergency Medicine technologies.
Surgical Services – 2 Surgical Suites, Endoscopy and Procedure Room. Providing 24/7 inpatient and outpatient peri-operative and endoscopy care for adult and pediatric patients.
Short-Procedure Unit – 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. operating hours, M-F. The SPU is a six bed pre/post operative recovery area for all outpatient procedures. The unit also administers intravenous therapy and injections on an outpatient basis.

- Work only 2 Weekends per month (2 12-hour shifts each weekend)
- Special pay rate in lieu of benefits
