Director of Nursing – The Director of Nursing will assume authority, responsibility, and accountability for the delivery of nursing services in collaboration with senior staff. Candidate must be able to positively promote change, cost efficiency, quality, and staff commitment. Will coordinate and coach a team of nurse managers in a constantly evolving environment to ensure that care delivered is patient focused. This position will ensure consistency in the delivery of compassionate quality care and nursing supervision. Is an active member of Performance Improvement and Patient Safety.
Requires 7-10 years varied nursing experience, including management or other related administrative responsibilities. Must be familiar with hospital regulatory requirements. BSN required.
Manager Cardiopulmonary Services – Oversee respiratory, sleep and cardiopulmonary services. Ideal candidate will be a PA licensed respiratory therapist with at least two years management or supervisory experience. Candidate must have excellent communication skills, a positive demeanor and ability to interact professionally with colleagues and medical staff. Must be familiar with quality improvement, budget & appropriate staffing levels, and state and federal regulations.
Director of Imaging Services – Seeking a qualified individual to direct all hospital imaging services. Position will be responsible for assuring quality patient care, staff productivity, cost efficiency, and customer service. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of PACS, Voice Recognition Transcription and all ACR, DEP, CMS and DOH regulations as they apply to all imaging modalities. Must possess exemplary interpersonal skills, strong leadership abilities with excellent verbal and written communication, and demonstrate strong customer services values. Candidate must have clinical credentials in imaging technology, at least a bachelor’s degree, and a minimum of five years experience in the field with management experience. Psychiatrist – Outpatient Clinic – Highlands Hospital has an excellent opportunity available for a self-motivated psychiatrist who will provide clinical care for clients and oversight of the hospitals’ newly opened behavioral health outpatient clinic. The Hospital is seeking 16 hours per week of psychiatric time.
Qualifications: Requires a medical degree in Psychiatry, a valid PA medical license, and successful credentialing on the hospital’s medical staff.
Staff Nurse / RN- For Med-Surg unit with Acuity Adaptable beds that can be designated as needed for those patients requiring a higher level of care, including intensive monitoring and specialized technology. Staff MUST have or be willing to attain critical care training. Requires current Pa license Knowledge of nursing principles and theory of biophysical and behavioral sciences. Good interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, family, and health care team members. Must demonstrate competency through mechanisms defined by Hospital policy.
Patient Care Assistant [PCA] – Part-time. Requires HS diploma or equivalent, and ability to provide necessary physical assistance, personal care, and monitoring of vital signs. Skills may be obtained through formal training, CNA certification, relevant work experience, or on the job training. Must be flexible to work various shifts, rotating weekends, holidays, etc. Will be oriented to multiple nursing units (med-surg, SPU, ER) and may be assigned where needed.
Staff Nurse / RN- Full-time. Requires 6 -12 months relevant experience in hospital OR or surgicenter (or 2 years in obstetrics that included scrubbing/circulating). Experience with gynecological procedures a plus. Weekdays daylight, with some evening and weekend call.
Surgical Tech- Full-time/Part-time. Requires completion of accredited training program (or equivalent on the job training). Recent hospital or surgi-center experience preferred. Weekdays daylight, with some evening and weekend call.
Staff Nurse / RN – Part-time. Must have related experience or sincere interest in developing knowledge and skills in behavioral health nursing.
Nuclear Medicine Technologist – Casual. Requires nuclear medicine certification from either ARRT or NMTCB. Shifts may be prescheduled or on call-in basis.
Vascular Ultrasound Technologist - Part-time. Must be able to perform abdominal, obstetrical, and vascular exams. Requires ARDMS and RVT. Typically works day shift , with evenings, weekends/holiday and on-call.
MRI Technologist- Casual. Requires completion of hospital or college-based AMA-approved school of radiologic technology, current MRI certification with the AART.
Social Worker – Casual. BSW required; MSW preferred from accredited school of social work. Two years experience in multidisciplinary health setting is required; inpatient acute care setting is preferred.
Staff is currently being added due to enrollment growth.
Coordinating Teacher – Full-time. Collaborate with Center Director and other teacher to develop curricula and grow the program utilizing ABA principles and ongoing data collection and assessment. Work with students and support CBTs in implementing program curricula and students’ IEPs. Bachelor’s degree in education required, but special education preferred.
Classroom Behavioral Therapist [CBT] –
The Classroom Behavioral Therapist, or “CBT”, works intensively with 1-2 students under the direction of a Coordinating Teacher. The CBT follows a structured ABA regimen, to continually reinforce behavioral changes that truly make a difference in the daily lives of the students and their families.
The CBT requires a bachelor’s degree in education, special education, psychology, speech, or other developmentally-related field. A CBT must be self-motivated, physically able to manage active students, and emotionally able to remain patient and focused.
Previous Experience working with children with autism preferred. Current CPSL clearances within 30 days of hire.

Tech Assistant/Phlebotomist -Part-time and Casual. Requires recent training or experience. Will perform venipunctures on inpatients and outpatients, as well as other related functions for clinical laboratory. Rotating shifts, including weekends and holiday.
OTHER STAFF POSITIONS
Aerobic / Yoga Instructor – Casual. Group Fitness Instructors promote wellness through aerobics and/or yoga. They are contracted as an individual service to the wellness center. They develop and perform classes of aerobics or yoga upon demands of wellness center members.
Requirements – Current licensure of Group Fitness Instructing. CPR certification preferred. Seeking applicants with a background in health fitness/wellness field, as well as those who have strong people skills.
Medical Office Assistant – Part-Time Position– For physician practices, to perform front and back office duties. Requires experience, strong computer skills, and willingness to travel between offices. Seeking graduates from an accredited Medical Assistant program. Physician’s office or other clinical experience preferred.
Physician Practice Billing Assistant - Part-time – Daylight hours. Assist with processing of patient bills for various physician services. Requires thorough knowledge of insurance billing, professional fee billing, collections, CPT4 and ICD9 coding, and physician practice systems.
Wellness Center Attendant – Casual/relief position. Greet members, monitor facility use, clean equipment, basic clerical duties. Requires good customer relations, neat appearance, and reliable attendance.
Pharmacy Technician -Part-Time position. Must possess basic computer skills, mathematical aptitude, and attention to detail. Daylight, including rotating weekends.
Must possess a High School Diploma or the equivalent and must meet ONE of the following requirements for education/work experience:
** Successful completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program or certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board; with at least one year relevant pharmacy experience
** Certification through the National Pharmacy Technician Board, Inc. with at least one year of relevant pharmacy technician experience.
** Minimum of two years relevant Hospital Pharmacy technician experience.
** Completion of four years of a six-year Pharmacy Degree Program, with at least one year of relevant experience.

Nursing Specialty Areas:
Behavioral Health – We provide the only inpatient behavioral health care in Fayette County, which has been a specialized service of Highlands Hospital for over 30 years! Traditional behavioral health treatment is enhanced with other healing modalities such as music therapy, guided imagery, and drum circle activities. 29 beds are located among two comfortable and attractive inpatient units. The larger unit was recently reopened after a complete renovation, which incorporates enhanced safety features for both staff and patients, improved design for patient care and activities, and many other state of the art features for modern behavioral health care.
Medical Surgical – Our Med-Surg units serve pediatric/adult/geriatric patients, and include several telemetry beds.
Critical Care/ICU – Adult Intensive Care within the MedSurg Unit. Critical Care/ACLS educated RNs providing a higher level of care.
Emergency Department – Full-service 24/7 ED staffed with specialty qualified physicians and RNs, and containing many state-of-the art Emergency Medicine technologies.
Surgical Services – 2 Surgical Suites, Endoscopy and Procedure Room. Providing 24/7 inpatient and outpatient peri-operative and endoscopy care for adult and pediatric patients.
Short-Procedure Unit – 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. operating hours, M-F. The SPU is a six bed pre/post operative recovery area for all outpatient procedures. The unit also administers intravenous therapy and injections on an outpatient basis.
