MANAGEMENT

Nursing Manager – Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit – Full-time – Highlands Hospital Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit is a 29 bed facility. We are dedicated to providing a full range of mental health services to the local area. We strive to enhance the mental health, safety and well-being of our patients, their families, and the community at large by providing ethical, compassionate, medically and psychologically integrated inpatient treatment for psychiatric and addiction disorders.

The inpatient Behavioral Health Nursing Manager, under the direct supervision of the Behavioral Health Program Director, facilitates and assists with all levels of nursing care provided to patients within the inpatient behavioral health unit. The Nursing Manager will assist nurses with day to day problem solving, facilitate communication between care team providers, and serve as a liaison between front-line staff and the Behavioral Health Program Director. The Nurse Manager leadership role is critical to improving the quality of care provided on the individual nursing unit/practice setting. In addition to these responsibilities, when needed the charge nurse may assume all or partial staff nurse responsibilities. The Nurse Manager is the first level of administration assigned to the unit in the absence of the Behavioral Health Program Director.

Director of Case Management – Full-Time – Current PA registered nurse license is required with two (2) years experience and training in varied clinical settings. The individual must possess good interpersonal skills and be able to effectively communicate with physicians, department directors and hospital staff at all levels. Must have an overall understanding of medical and clinical practices. Certification in hospital Case Management is preferred.

Licensed Professional Counselor – Highlands Hospital Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic is currently seeking a creative and energetic individual to fill a contract position at our growing clinic located in Connellsville, PA. We promote a diverse and collaborative work environment and are eager to accept applications from individuals experienced in working with adolescents and adults. The role of the Licensed Counselor is to provide individual counseling, group therapy, and family counseling. Applicants must be credentialed in the state of Pennsylvania as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Flexible scheduling. Candidates must be currently licensed in Pennsylvania including LPCs, LCSWs, and LMFTs

Nursing Shift Supervisor – Casual. Seeking an RN to function as House Supervisor on off-shifts and weekends.  Requires nursing experience and current ACLS, with critical care training and some management experience preferred.

Psychiatrist – Outpatient Clinic – Highlands Hospital has an excellent opportunity available for a self-motivated psychiatrist who will provide clinical care for clients and oversight of the hospitals’ newly opened behavioral health outpatient clinic. The Hospital is seeking 16 hours per week of psychiatric time. Qualifications: Requires a medical degree in Psychiatry, a valid PA medical license, and successful credentialing on the hospital’s medical staff.

EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT

RN Staff Nurse – Current PA Registered License, Requires 1 year critical care or emergency room experience preferred and critical care training. ACLS certification required; PALS required within 1 year of hire.

MED SURG

LPN – Part-time  Experience preferred; telemetry experience helpfulTraining or experience in IV therapy required.

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH  

Staff Nurse / RN –  Part-time.  Must have related experience or sincere interest in developing knowledge and skills in behavioral health nursing.

Mental Health Aide – High School education or equivalent. Physical ability to provide direct total physical care for patients; good observation skills. Completion of approved crises intervention program (required upon hire or by attendance at first class offered by the hospital) Ability to provide necessary physical/personal care, as acquired through nursing aide training. Relevant work experience, or on the job training during Highlands probation period. Ability to interact with patients and families in a therapeutic manner, as acquired through. Psychiatric tech training, related education, and/or relevant work experience; or demonstrates adequate understanding of appropriate patient/family interaction in the mental health setting. CPSL clearances within 30 days of hire or transfer to the department.

LABORATORY

Lab Medical Technologist/Technician – Part-time position. MT or MTL.  ASCP or eligible.  Must have ability to work all areas of laboratory without direct supervision.  Rotating shifts, weekends, holidays. Current CPSL Clearances within 30 days of hire.

AUTISM PROGRAM:

Staff is currently being added due to enrollment growth.

Classroom Behavioral Therapist [CBT] –

The Classroom Behavioral Therapist, or “CBT”, works intensively with 1-2 students under the direction of a Coordinating Teacher. The CBT follows a structured ABA regimen, to continually reinforce behavioral changes that truly make a difference in the daily lives of the students and their families.

The CBT requires an associates or bachelor’s degree in education, special education, psychology, speech, or other developmentally-related field. A CBT must be self-motivated, physically able to manage active students, and emotionally able to remain patient and focused.

Previous Experience working with children with autism preferred. Current CPSL clearances within 30 days of hire.

OTHER STAFF POSITIONS

Patient Registrar– Part-time.  H.S. graduate or the equivalent. 20 wpm typing and ability to demonstrate basic word processing skills on a PC. Knowledge of medical terminology and Good organizational skills and communication skills, to relate well with all levels of staff.

Mammography Technologist – Casual. Registered by the ARRT in Radiology and Mammography, Certification in Bone Densitometry. Digital experience preferred.

Medical Assistant – Part-Time Position– For off-site primary care services, to perform front office and clinical duties. Requires experience, strong computer skills, and willingness to travel. Seeking graduates from an accredited Medical Assistant program. Medical office or other clinical experience preferred.

Aerobic / Yoga Instructor – Casual. Group Fitness Instructors promote wellness through aerobics and/or yoga. They are contracted as an individual service to the wellness center. They develop and perform classes of aerobics or yoga upon demands of wellness center members.

Requirements – Current licensure of Group Fitness Instructing. CPR certification preferred. Seeking applicants with a background in health fitness/wellness field, as well as those who have strong people skills.

GENERAL EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION

Nursing Specialty Areas:

Behavioral Health – We provide the only inpatient behavioral health care in Fayette County, which has been a specialized service of Highlands Hospital for over 30 years!  Traditional behavioral health treatment is enhanced with other healing modalities such as music therapy, guided imagery, and drum circle activities.  29 beds are located among two comfortable and attractive inpatient units.  The larger unit was recently reopened after a complete renovation, which incorporates enhanced safety features for both staff and patients, improved design for patient care and activities, and many other state of the art features for modern behavioral health care.

Medical Surgical/AAB – Our Med Surg units serve pediatric/adult/geriatric patients, and include several telemetry beds. In addition, Acuity-Adaptable beds can be designated as needed for those patients requiring a higher level of care, including specialized technology, and intensive monitoring by specially trained nursing staff.

Emergency Department – Full-service 24/7 ED staffed with specialty qualified physicians and RNs, and containing many state-of-the art Emergency Medicine technologies.

Surgical Services – 2 Surgical Suites, Endoscopy and Procedure Room. Providing 24/7 inpatient and outpatient peri-operative and endoscopy care for adult and pediatric patients.

Short-Procedure Unit – 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. operating hours, M-F. The SPU is a six bed pre/post operative recovery area for all outpatient procedures. The unit also administers intravenous therapy and injections on an outpatient basis.
