Charitable giving gives hope to patients and helps raise health care in our community to a whole new level. Your gifts help Highlands Hospital ensure your loved ones and neighbors can continue to receive quality care right here at home. As our community continues to grow, Highlands Hospital is committed to providing enhanced medical care, more skilled jobs, and increased community outreach to ensure longer and healthier lives for us now and for generations to come. It’s a place where you know will get excellent health care from Highlands Hospital and its family.
We offer state of the art health care clots to home, so when seconds count you do not have to leave the county. And when your loved ones become a guest in one of our health care entities, you can spend more time with them and less time driving out of town.
That is why we ask you to consider partnering with Highlands Hospital. Because whether we are in the forefront of medical care or working quietly in the background to help a family in need, our success is not measured in buildings, but in a thousand singular moments made possible by you.
Tree of Life
Highlands Hospital is pleased to introduce its “Tree of Life” Donor Recognition Program. The intent of the “Tree of Life” Program is to provide a lasting memorial that allows individuals, families or organizations to remember, honor and pay tribute to loved ones.
Categories of Support
Tree of Life Leaf – $200.00
Small Stone at Base of Tree of Life – $600.00
Large Stone at Base of Tree of Life - $1,000
Donations made to the “Tree of Life” are used to support hospital programs and construction projects. In this way, “Tree of Life” donations perpetuate the giving process because they not only pay tribute but also help provide vital services to those individuals who seek care at Highlands.
Additionally, through this effort, Highlands Hospital can further its mission providing health care to the community in a competent, nurturing, and healing environment.
Additional Giving Opportunities
Many individuals who support the hospital prefer to make a charitable gift to a particular service. Listed below are services provided by Highlands Hospital. If you wish to designate your donation to one of those service lines, please indicate this on the Pledge Form in the appointed area.
Additionally, we also have other charitable giving and planning vehicles available to help you bestow a distinctive gift to the hospital in a way that is most beneficial to you and your family. For more information regarding effective estate planning and charitable giving opportunities, please call (724) 626-2440.
Planned Giving Options May Include:
Planned Giving Terms
Bequests – A gift made to a charity trough a donor’s will.
Charitable Trust – Money or property given in trust to a charitable organization, in return for tax benefits and a fixed dollar percentage of income for the donor’s lifetime, or as otherwise specified.
Life Estate Contract – Real estate donated in return for tax advantages and the lifetime used of the property by the donor.
Securities – Stocks and bonds donated outright in favor of reduced taxes.
Life Insurance – Life insurance can be donated with the hospital as the beneficiary.
Another option of choice is contributing to the Hospital’s Endowment Fund, administered by the Community Foundation of Fayette County. All contributions given to the endowment are pooled into a single fund and invested. The hospital can then use the interest from the investment to upgrade services and equipment. Donors enjoy contributing to this type of fund because they know that their gift is perpetually supporting the hospital.
Funding Project for the Center for Autism
Watch Video: “Changing Lives”
Of the families who have inquired about the Highlands Center for Autism, the majority of them cannot afford the program. Today, it is urgent that we provide children diagnosed with autism the opportunity for a better life.
Currently, the Center’s most critical need is to fund the annual tuitions of the many children whose families do not have the financial means to place their child in the program.
This can only be accomplished with your help. Your generosity will provide individual scholarships and help create an endowment for future scholarships.
Both annual contributions and the growth of an endowment can help fund staff positions, programming, activities, and equipment.
Imagine the positive impact the Center for Autism can have when a child achieves meaningful communication, portrays positive behavior patterns, and family outings become possible. Imagine a young child who can look directly in her parents’ eyes, smile, and say, “I love you.” Imagine a father that can finally play catch with his son.
Imagine the families saved and the dreams realized. The Center for Autism provides that opportunity for a better life—we have the ability to change lives.
The Center for Autism is a place of hope for children with autism and their families. But the biggest challenge is not the treatment, is the cost. We have the facility, the staffing and the expertise, but we need the funding to place deserving students in the program.
Remember that the need for the Center will only grow each year.
